New to the forum, & have a question about my '02 3.0 A4.On threeseperate occasions I have been back to service with my CPO because of oil burning. The last visit ended in an argument between myself and the tech, who insists that the carburning between 1-1/2 to 2 qts. of oil every 7K mi. is normal?? Also he says that the "oil min." indicator will appear even when theoil level is notbelow 2 qts. left???

Anyone know the exact oil capacity for the car/heard of this typeof problem?

 

You should change your oil every 5k miles anyways. And also my old A4 went through 5 qts of oil every 2-3k miles!!! I just sold it and got a new one!!! LOL

welcome from a tech and yes he is right ( the average loss/use of oil depending on weather conditions ) very hot = more loss due to the heat obviously so explain your circumstances so we can get a better picture1 ltr per 1,000 miles is the norm but very rare

 

i change mine every 3k... that is what i have always done on all my cars
