How are these things in the snow with a set of blizzacks?

No idea about the blizzacks, but mine is better than the 4X4 Jimmy we use to have as a second vehicle. Bar none, Audi AWD is the best thing I've driven in snow. Better than FWD, FWD and Mits AWD regardless of tires. Actually, I've never even had a set of snows on my A4. Might be kind of cool to try that this winter. I take it by your question you are a fan of the blizzacks? Who makes them? Can you give me some details on them?

I dont know if you read road and track, but they tested 2 lancer evos with studded blizzacks over the yukon territory and they said they were amazing. And where i live in PA i need awd and a good set of snows and with trips to Vermont.

Thanks. I am thinking of putting snows on my factory 15" wheels and then putting the Mich's on the new wheels when I get them. We don't get as much snow here in Indy as we did back up in the I-94 corridor in Michigan so I'm a little worried that I'll wear the snows out too soon with all the dry pavement driving we end up with here in the winter. You think that will be an issue?

Got your email, back at ya. Have you ever heard of "siping" tires? Not sure I spelled that right, but it's suppose to increase the grip and extend the life of the tire, but I don't know if it's a gimic or if there is really something to it.

I saw a bunch of advertising on it last time I was at Discount Tire getting my tires rotated. I guess they cut the individual treads horizontally so that each tread is able to grip more and wear less. Seems like if it was as great as the ads said, the tire companies would be doing it. Well, maybe they are, just curious.

I live in Michigan and never had a problem with the snow. The roads were covered quite a few times last year to. I am using all season tires. So I imagine actual winter tires in the snow would handle like summer tires on a rainy day
