A4 starting problem

Default A4 starting problem
Hi I have a 2008 A4 with a starting problem.
I put the key in and push once to turn ignition on, when I put my foot on the clutch and push the key fob again to start, the ignition switches off.
Anybody have any ideas please?

Almost sounds like a dead battery. When you turn the key to crank the engine it pulls all the remaining power so it looks like it turns off.
