Default A4 used reliability?

My wife owned an 06 A4. It was a monster on the road and great in the snow. She had issues with oil and tranny which we traded in. She loves the audi and my 08 c300 benz is giving issues and debating if we should give the Audi another try. My question is have their reliability improved? My wifes car was 6 years old with major tranny issues. Thanks

Your one of the few that I have seen post about tranny issues. Most seem to be having good luck with them. Mine has started to do this pulsing thing at about 55 mph when cold. Only does it a few minutes and then goes away. I have read that it is the torque converter and a known issue. I have heard others say they are expereincing this as well. So far no one has gotten to a point that a repair was needed.

My 2008 has ben running great. Over a 155k in miles and have had no issue with it. A couple of minor repairs (none that left me stranded or prevented me from driving the car).

Audi has gotten more reliable over the last decade. My ex girlfriend sold her 2005.5 A4 3.2 with high miles because we feared engine issues, she got a Lexus IS250 that ended up giving her more problems then the Audi.
