A4's reliable?
Well i work at carmax, we got a A4 2.8 quad, didnt get the year, it is a 98-2001 i believe. it has 97k on it. i will test drive it tommarow, and will find out everything about it, the appraisal guy said it will prolly go for 5k wholesale(employees) .
Now was wondering if the car is worth it, and if they are reliable, anything to really look for?
I am new to audi's, i owned a 98vr6 jetta and loved it.

reliable, yes....... its no Honda or Acura though.
if your looking for a vehicle with reliability your #1 concern you may not want an Audi.
The Japanesse have reliability all-locked-up in the automotive world..........
HOWEVER, reliability should not be the only reason to buy a vehicle.
Drive that Audi... it's AWD?... blaze through some turns.... if you have any snow on the ground,
find it and plow through it.
One thing is for sure, when your behind the wheel of that Audi, you'll understand why the Germans put
cupholders on the bottom of the priority list when engeneering a vehicle, because German autos are
all about the driving experience.
If I had to give the top 3 reasons I bought my Audi i'd say:
1- The drive
2- AWD (helps with the drive but also is great in the snow)
3- Quality of the materials used in constuction of the car (interiors of so many other cars allways seem "cheap")
i.e.- Honda, Toyota, Acura allways have the cheesiest interiors
Dont get me wrong, i'm not bashing Audi's reliabnility though, its still a fantastic car

Well yes i am looking for a car thats all about the driving experience, which is why im inthe market for a German Car, i have owned an eclipse, and a galant, i used to enjoy the veihcals till i bought my 1998 Jetta GLX (VR6), was a great car, till my brother totaled it. Then i also drove my sisters BMW (which i loved) and my friends 89 BMW (FUN little car). After driving those 3 i have decided im going german all the way.
My concern about the audi is, i was told they have lots of trouble, i have been browsing around, and all the trouble i see from audi is from the 2002 a4, and wanted to know if the 99-01 have the same problem, or are they a little more reliable. I do know audi is made by VW, so im prety sure they are "Picky" which isnt a problem, since all my work is done by a privade machanic, who doesnt charge me much.

Every car has its problems. For the most part, if you take care of the car it will be reliable. The problem with used cars is that you don;t know how well it has been maintained by the previous owner. If you neglect an Audi, it will hurt you in the wallet down the road.
I totally agree here Crowe.
