lol

but as a bonous for reliability, the quATTRO 5speed manual with the 1.8t engine for the B5 is the most reliable engine/drivetrain setup audi has EVER built. and it is also a safe as h3ll car. my 01 A4 has 7 airbags. few NEW cars have that. thats what saves me on insurance.

The 1.8 t does have its issues , Like the Sludge problem , Cam seals , and Cam Chain Adjuster , I think the 2.8 12v is probraly more reliable .. Its really all about maintenance though

Well i work at carmax, we got a A4 2.8 quad, didnt get the year, it is a 98-2001 i believe. it has 97k on it. i will test drive it tommarow, and will find out everything about it, the appraisal guy said it will prolly go for 5k wholesale(employees) .

Now was wondering if the car is worth it, and if they are reliable, anything to really look for?

I am new to audi's, i owned a 98vr6 jetta and loved it.
This should be a good one for you.

The 6cyl is a lot more reliable. By 97k, it should have had the t-belt doen already, if not, it will need it immediatly.
Check for tight steering, and suspension noises, because the control arms and tie-rod ends start to go around that mileage. For 5k, get this one, you wont be dissapointed. Dont expect to be able to mod this one much though. But with quattro, you will have a great, fun, luxurious daily driver.
Follow the service guide, and it will last you a long time.
