I'd probably skip the CVT and either get a manual or go for the tiptronic transmission.

If you are ever going to modify the car or engine, the CVT wont hold much.

haha true, but the car does have that + and - on it so you can shift it like a 6speed. I mean to be honest I don't intend on this being a super fast car. I really like the looks and it is a very comfortable ride. Besides for a couple grand I can pick up a 944 and turn it into a SCCA solo x'er.

BTW if anyone in orlando wants to go with me to look at the car and point out a lemon feel free!! lol

Beware of the Oil issues with these engines. Not only do they sludge, but the oil pump in them are weak. Mine went out at 70k miles (and u have to do a timing belt replacement at that time as well which is excessive). You would also need to have every service recipt from an audi dealer for oil changes for them to cover your engine.

I will not be buying another 1.8t after my expereince with this car.

thanks for the heads up man. What year was your car??

Ok heres the deal at this point. The 02' at the dealer that carfax says had a minor accident I looked over. The car is almost flawless... I will admit it is in alot better shape than the other. I looked at where the "incident" occured and The only thing I can see is the black trim is a couple cm from the painted part at one small point. I could probably just pop it back up there, didnt really try. He said that the car was tapped and it was reported to the insurance. Heres the next problem... The check engine light is on. Next thursday they are taking it to Audi to be fixed. I also inquired about a PPI and he said that they would run one for me while it was in the shop getting fixed. Now, not having a warranty this could be a good thing.... but "Minor" accident kind of scares me... Carfax does have the buyback though. What do you guys think?

Summed up: 02 silver with black leather, 55k, auto, FWD... dropped the price to 15,500 and is being fixed at Audi

I'm more concerned with the CEL. If you do buy the car, make sure you find out what the cell is (in writing) and get some sort of warranty on it, (eg 30 days, in writing) don't buy it "sold as is".

Quattro with manual transmission is the only way to go. Buy a $500 beater and wait until you find just the right one or you'll be sorry.
