ABS & Brake indicator lit

RE: ABS & Brake indicator lit
If you find that the error code now is related to the module itself, you may want to do what I did.
Well, I just mailed my ABS control module to this company:
http://autoecu.com/default.asp
They charged $250 to fix a "known-issue" with the Bosch 5.3 ABS module chips failing. All they would do is either resolder or replace the chips on the board. You don't need to take the entire pump off. They have instructions on how to get it done. It was cheaper than paying the dealer $3000 for a replacement. I just got a call from the dealer 2 hours ago and told me to pickup my car, it is done and I let them install the module since the car was there for other things. They said the ABS light is gone for good.
Good luck. Cheers.

I sent mine into the same company, autoecu.com and got it back, popped it in and the light went out right away (impressive, at first), until about 3-4 weeks later when it all the sudden popped back on (the usual ABS and blinking Brake lights after start up). I took it to an independant Audi shop and they said the module has failed and needs to be replaced, this is the second time i've heard this, first it was from the dealer (they only wanted $4K, until I freaked, then all the sudden $3K was the #, never went back, Stevens Creek Audi sucks BTW) and second was after i got it "fixed" by autoecu, but i have a 5 yr warranty on the repairs from autoecu (good thing) so now I have to take them up on it, bummer, was hoping i wasn't gonna have to have it pulled out again, not convenient at all. I'll let u know how the warranty repair goes, second times a charm....otherwise, i have to suck up and pay the $3K, @#$%. Good luck is right!
