Default abs and traction lights

Hey guys,

My TC light and abs lights came on tonight, unfortunately the local parts places were closed so i couldn't get it scanned. Anyone else have the lights come on? BTW i tested the ABS and traction on some icy patches of road and the are def. not working.

And just like last time i had an issue im supposed to drive myself and my boss to the airport from work tomorrow...*****!

yep same problem here... i got used to driving without abs...took a few really really close calls but u learn to let go of the brakes when they lock up...deff not safe just take it easy until u get it fixed.

My lights come on and off intermitently. My abs however still works, I think one of my sensors is clogged or broken.

Chances are your abs unit has gone out, it costs over a grand to get fixed at a dealer but there is a company in Idaho called Module Masters and they will rebuild your unit for like $250 and they use upgraded parts so your unit will last longer. they're pretty good.

Sounds like one of the ABS senors has broken down if you have access to VAG this can be tested. Go into
brakes 03
Read measured value blocks 08
001
this will display the readouts of the ABS sensors for all four wheels, then just drive the car while monitoring the read outs and see if any are diffrent to the rest. If so the ABS sensor requires replacment.

My ABS lights are on as well. I had it scanned and it was just a sensor that costs $89 and $50 labor. Have it checked out!! It may be an easy fix
