AC Belt Removal Help
Is there a special tool to get into the AC belt without removing the bumper? I can't get the torx driver in to loosen the pulley for th AC belt. My serpentine belt is shot but the AC belt needs to come off for the serpentine to slide out of the crankshaft. It does not need the timing belt yet. Any tips? I need to get this done asap.
You can, just need to carefully choose tools that will fit.
I ran in to the same probelm last night, I had to remove the AC compressor to get the starter off. I had a heck of a time with that pulley, in fact, I ended up just loosening the compressor and getting the belt off that way.
You need a 6mm hex I believe, and a wrench that will fit in there! I was about to use a hex wrench, but got it off the other way instead.

I was looking at sears for the micro wrenches. I tell you they sure make things complicated now a days. The serpetine belt comes off with ease. Not sure why they needed to complicate the AC Belt... How hard was the compressor to move?

Not bad really. 4 bolts, and swing it out of the way. I spent way more time trying to get the wrench out of the tensioner bolt than I did removing the compressor.
