I have a 2000 A4 1.8T and I been having problem with accelaration while driving.The problem is when I step on the gas pedalthe car doesn't move right away, as matter fact it takes about a seconds for the car to move. And sometimes while driving on the highway whenI press hardon the gas I hear a growling noise on the engine, and then the car start to pick a little speed. Everyone Just try to understand I'm don't have a racing carbutmy carholds back for afewsecondsinstead of going fast when I press the gass pedal that's the problem. So if anyone can give me some suggestions on how to fix the problem I would appricate it very much. Also the car is not chip, so I don't expect to move as fast as a ferrari but I put too much pressure on the gast for it to move that's my concern.

Can't be sure for sure but I believe the problem you are describing is called TURBO LAG. Get use to it.

 

It's not turbo lag.. once he hits 3k it takes off, and is very noticable...

I think theres a possibly a bad DV or a leak? Are there any unusual sounds? I'd replace the Diverter Valve for 35$ first.

 

he said there was a "growling noise" when he hit the gas. There has to be some type of leak where pressure is seaping out of it

Go to your local audi dealership and aske them for the 710N DV valve.
