So I was parked at my apt complex today..and a girl in a big ol' Yukon Denali backed into me.
She left a ntoe with her name/number and I called her back today...but...
She did a lotta damage to my car.
This is the first "accident" Ive ever dealt with..so if anyone can give me a guess on how much its gonna cost to get replaced/anything IM suppsoed to do (Do i call her insruance co. or mine?) - Im super scared my rates are gonna go up if i call my co..and Ialready pay a LOT!

Anyway..some pics I took:

 

It just looks like the bumper cover and taillight were damaged. The painted section between the red on the taillight and the bumper is actually part of the taillight. It honestly doesn't look like there's that much damage, but you should really take it to a body shop, get a few quotes, and get them to look for any damage behind the bumper.

 

so thats easy to replace right? I say a lot of damage..cuz to me its overwhelming

my advice i say go through insurance cause thats gonna cost lot of money rite
dont take her offer if she wants to go out side of insurance

yeah I seriously lucked out wit hher and leaving the note. I talked to her tonite when I got home- she has to replace her bumper on the Denali..which should prolly cost more than mine

Im just bummed.....Ive kept the car really nice, there arent really any scratches on it..and I jsut washed it YESTERDAY

Were gona go thru her insurance..i jsut wish I didnt have to tell mine and raise my rate even more >.<

 

your rates arent gona go up. you didnt hit anyone. she hit you, you were parked right?

 

don't call your insurance company...if it's not your fault, you don't have to bring them into it...most insurance companies suck and will raise your rates for any reason they can find, it's better to leave them out of this. call the girl's insurance company and explain the situation. it would be a good idea to go to a couple body shops first (expensive ones, since her insurance paying for it) and get quotes for the repair...it's not a lot of damage really, just the taillight and bumper cover...also ask the body shops how much it would be to replace the bumper cover vs. trying to repair/repaint it...
