Advice for New A4
I have looked at Audi before but never really considered it an option as a car I could own, especially being in college right now. But, I found out that there are some great deals on 2004 A4 leases right now; 1.8t with premium packageand 17in wheels for $295 for 48 months and 10,000 miles a year.

So my question is: Should I get quattro or FWD? Obviously, the 1.8t can be modified to have more power, but I would think that driving 4 wheels would need some more power than what the 1.8t has now. Is this true? The other advantage is 6-speed vs. 5-speed tranny; I bet the 6 rocks!

Also, I thought that I would want to have the Ultra Sport package, but with more research, it seems people with the Ultra Sport package are changing there wheels, spring, and body kits anyway.

Any advice? FWD or Quattro? Ultra sport package?

if you buy an audi you have to buy quartto it makes the car for what it is. i have the ultra sport and i love the way the differnt bumpers look with the wing . plus the 18 over the 17 but its your car man go for what you like. but no question asked get a quartto.

Well, I went home for the weekend, since I live away at school, and test drove a 1.8t quattro auto. I LOVED IT!! I have been debating between a Acura TSX and the A4. After that visit to the dealership, I was convinced.

I have worked on japanese cars before and it was alright. But after taking time to look at the car closely and evaluate its quality and design, I knew that it was the one I wanted. It is so solid and well designed that I am never going to touch a japanese car again. I love german engineering!

My local dealership has a Black/Black A4 1.8t Quattro 6 speed with lighting, premium, and ultra sport coming in this next week. I think that's going to be it!

I am excited about doing some mods in the future. I am already familar with the japanese scene, so moving to a euro will be a great new project!

Thanks for the help!

Think of it liek this: with fwd you do ahve more power going to the front 2 wheels, but then you have to worry about burning out too long on launches. The quattro has less power going to each wheel but it is more balanced and all the power is still hitting the ground under the car, not to mention the tremendously better handeling with the quattro. Quattro is the better choice hands down.
I think hes already sold!! But the TSX is a sweet car too Its the same as the european Honda Accord ...damn europeans get all the good cars and if we do get them they always get them first
