just a quick question, when my exhaust fell off it pulled off the wiring on the after cat O2 sensor and now its throwing a CEL and other related symptoms, what i need to know is how many wires is it, and if its possible for me to just splice a universal sensor into the existing wiring.

 

Not sure how many wires there are but it is the rear O2 Sensor, ECS has em, part # for an AEB engine is ES#1559.

 

im actually looking for the cheapest route just something to stop the backfiring. if i cant even get the sensor off im probably just gonne splice the wiring and drille a new hole for it. next to or on the side of the pipe. im finding universal sensor for about $25 shipped.

 

An after cat oxygen sensor problem shouldn't cause your car to backfire. The after cat sensor's sole function is to track the efficacy of the catalytic converter. If the car is backfiring, have it checked for codes as this is not the problem.
