Default aftermarket radio

i installed a kenwood kdc-mpv8025 and noticed that i dont have the feature of using my radio with the car off anymore. this also happened when i was using a pioneer temporarily. is there a wire in the factory harness that i'm supposed to connect with my aftermarket harness, and if so what color is it? does anyone hyave any schematics? i did have to bypass the amp and cd changer although...the cd changer by not plugging in its harness, and the amp by running separate speaker wires.

another thing is, does the 1998 a4 1.8t had an accessory position? becasue when i turn the key, all the lights on the dash lights up, whereas on my other car, i can turn one click for just radio and wiper power.

Default RE: aftermarket radio

If you used the same constant and switched power wires as the factory unit did, it should work the same way. I don't have a wiring schematic for the 98, but I'm looking. If you have a multi-tester, just make sure that the main power wire for the after market deck is connected to a source wire that is powered when the key is off.
