Ah...the dealer hoarked my snub mount
Dudes, I have an 02 1.8TQ - Tip and took it into the dealer for 30k service. I was hearing a faint "metal on metal" sound when wheels were between 35 and 45 mph. Stated to the rep to check it out as I think it could be back breaks or wheel bearing or something. They call me and say the mechanic states that some sort of mount was broken (found a piece on the plastic lower engine conver - which they did not put back on my car!) I tell rep over phone that I need more info and to have an explanation for me when I pick up my car, when I got there had forgotten to ask the mechanic and he was gone . I get home to find my APR snub gone (nothing in it's place as apparently they are ordering an OEM one to replace it & my plastic cover for bottom of engine missing. WTF. I want to rip these guys a new one. I have 1 year warranty left ( would after market snubby be an issue ), should I press on this one? Has anyone ever heard of an APR snub breaking - it's only been on the car for like 3k. Sorry for long post, but I am hot.
Shiat .. that sucks man .
Im not really sure if it could be a problem. Depends on how tight your dealer.
But on another note , how did you find the APR snub with the Tip tranny ?
Big difference ?

Not a huge difference, but it did help with some of that slack that even us tipsters get. This is the first mod I have made to the car. Gives a whole new meaning to Stealership.
Yes, I believe it is. I found a slight vibration at times - but really no big deal (no one else noticed the vibe when driving my ride so it really wasn't that bad.) It was cheap and is way easy to do on the 1.8T - just keep the OEM one and pop it back in after running with the new one for a while if you don't like it. But you will keep it in I bet, but be careful not to let it out of your sight...
