Alarm LED in Door
Very cool! I'd actually like to do that with green in my black on black. I used to have a Denon in-dash CD player in my GTI (it was a "pull-out" stereo, to give you an idea how old it is now). You could unscrew the face, and had access to all of the LED's. On them, they had miniature, colored "condoms" (for lack of a better descriptive term) that you could remove and replace with other colors. (I had blue covers in mine). It wasn't as cool as being able to change the color at the touch of a button, but still, this would be a cool customizable feature for auto makers to incorporate into their instrument clusters.
By the way, that Denon had the best sound of any CD player I've had since. I don't think they've made mobile electronics for years.

Na. pulling the door panel isn't a huge deal. Just get an LED that is the same diameter as the one you're replacing. LED's are soooo low current draw that it should make any difference what you get as long as you can get it to fit. Go to www.allelectronics.com for a huge LED selection.
