When you lock the doors with the (door) button the drivers door stays unlocked unless you close the door fairly quick. ex: You get out the car and hit the lock button on the door, all door's lock except the driver's untill the door closes. Try it you'll see what i mean.

I just got a 2001 Audi A4 yesterday and I am having the same problems. I tried to lock it manually from inside of the car and all of the doors lock except the drivers side. I tried to lock it manually with my key from outside, looks like it automatically turns on the alarm because the red light on both drivers and passenger side doors pop up. I have tried to press the button by the door to turn off the sensor, I locked it by pressing the alarm button and the red light does not come up for a minute then a little later the red light comes up, does this mean that the sensor is off still? I don't understand I thought the red light would not come on. I tried to put my alarm on and then try to open with out pressing the alarm, it wouldn't go off which is really weird....please help tell me what the best thing to do to prevent from the alarm going off by itself.
