Hi folks... my 2006 1.8T convertible doesn't seem to have an alarm system. I'm assuming this, since I never set it off accidentally.

It doesn't look (from audi.com) as if you can buy the alarm system on-line (I'd be happy to put it in myself). Is there a standard Audi alarm system available? Surely, the wiring is already in the car to support an alarm, isn't it??

My last car was a Sebring Convertible, and I was able to buy all the alarm parts, and install them myself.

I have hard time to believe 06 doesn’t have alarm… u do have Remote Door Lock so u should have alarm,
lock the car using your Remote key while sitting in the car, then pull door handle just like to trying to get out.

Yup... you were right! An alarm system my A4 does have, of course. I tested it like you said, and it works. You know, this is a testament to the high quality of an Audi, for us to go a year without even knowing there was an alarm system... coz there were no false alarms, for instance.

I searched again through the user's manual, and finally found the information about the alarm system. You see, I'd looked through the index a number of times and could find no reference under "alarm" or even "security", and since it's my wife's car, I hadn't delved too thoroughly into the manual.

This is really a superb vehicle... I can't imagine why I assumed there was no alarm system!!! [X(] Thanks!
