ORIGINAL: Jeff

when i turned my dv around backwards it held 2x as much boost. i ran it on my t3t4 for a long time pusing 25psi
Well, if it was holding only 12.5 psi in the standard position, it was probably defective/broken to begin with.

no it was holding fine but i went from 7-9psi in the ko3 turbo then put the t3t4 in and turned the dv around and ran 25.

according to Bosch, the 710 should be with the pressure to the side if preintercooler and from the bottom post intercooler. I thinka solid dv (not weak diaphram like the 710) should be placed with the pressure side down, over the boost (not on the intake), and close to the TB. This puts less heat on the valve, keeps the turbo spinning faster between shifts, releases air faster and more air overall.

Also throwing this in, i have flipped the stock dv around when it started to fail and it held boost better along with several other TT and 1.8t owners

the side that was on the intake is now over the pressure and vise versa. I would only do it with a dying 710 and thats it unless you run a bov/hybrid or move the dv post ic.

the diaphram cant take the heat and pressure. They make it expand and contract until they cant take it anymore and tear or worp

I'll be probly buying the R1 by APR. its supposed to have all the benifits of a diaphram type, without wearing out.
