The problem is with your diversity box or diversity antenna. It filters radio stations for clearer reception. Its located in the shelf behind the rear seats.

If you have film type window tint, (aftermarket) it may interfere with AM reception since the antenna is in rear windshield, the metal oxide film shorts it out, probably need an outside mast antenna.

Do you have your rear defroster on?? If so turn it off, and see if that fixes the problem. I found out this winter that turning my rear defroster on basically kills my radio signal, FM and AM.

I have no tint on my windows, and FM works great, AM on the other hand, just really sucks.. I can hear a high pitched whine coming from the speakers when I have it on AM, and it will get louder if I go faster, it leads me to believe that It might be a bad ground somewhere. I dont know where the "diversity antenna" is, but I have gotten to the point where I just dont listen to AM anymore, especially since FM seems to be a last resort, IMHO Sat Radio is the way to go
