Default Amp Wiring

So I have my amp wired up, the power from the battery to the amp, grounded, tapped the speakers as in this DIY: http://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec29.shtml

If I connect everything together, I get feedback and poping in my speakers. This has been so frusterating.

So... could this be:

a) grounding issue
b) amp bridging issue
c) you tell me...

Yeah im useless when it comes to wiring.

Might want to go buy a ground loop isolator from best buy's car stereo install guys. It took care of my dirty sound problems when I installed an amp in my B5.

I'll look into one of those... how much do they cost?

I am actually having consistent popping noises when I plug everything in...

Maybe 10-15 bucks. Just a little box that plugs inline with the RCA patch cables. You didn't by chance run the Power wire right next to the RCA did you?

Nope.

What I did was ran the power wire down the driver side of the car.

Then I tapped into the rear left speaker (where the speaker amp is) into the low level input (before the plug). I tapped the switch on/off, right and left, ground all like this article on AW said: http://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec.html . I spliced a set of RCA cables (RCA end into my amp) and the others tapped the wires from the HU.

I am actually getting feedback through my rear speakers not only my amp. So I am wondering if maybe the tapping is the problem.

Hope this information helps.

because of the speakers' common ground, you need to install a ground loop isolator...i did the same install (except for the bose) in my car and when i was done i had all kinds of crazy interference, mostly from the alternator...a ground loop isolator is about 15 bucks on ebay, probably only a few bucks more at best buy...that should completely kill the interference you're getting
