perhaps try gronding it on a seat belt post or something.. sounds like there could be some sort of short caused by the rear deck speakers

 

I would deff. change that ground. I used this bolt on the rear deck that holds the driver side carpet wall up.

 

Dont know if anyone cares but. I got it to work. I found out that the ground cable was to close to the rear speakers causing it to go into Safe Mode aka Protect. I grounded the wire in to the trunk where the spear tire is and it works SICKK! lol BOOM! BOOM.. awesome combo Apline 12`s and Rockford 600watt amp... nice kick.
