Default Annoying Noise

I knows its either a wheel bearing, or a control arm or hell maybe something I dont know about but:

My car on the highway is annoyingly loud. Its almost like a grinding noise, but more like a whine on the left side of my car. When ever I veer left the sound goes away.

There is another noise coming from my right rear, like "duh duh duh" in sequences like im running over three things at once. Not ALL the time , but more often than not. Its not a whine or a squeal , more like a slight vibration.

BTW: My car is a 1999 Audi A4 1.8TQM

Thanks for any help you can bring!

I'd also guess wheel bearing up front... in the rear... tough call, check your rotor for rust, caliper might be slightly seized, and the pulsing you feel could just be a bad rotor.

I was looking at my car the other day, and noticed the front left wheel (where i think the source of the problem is) has alot of crud on the inner part of the wheel (the rim) im not sure what it is yet, havent really looked. Would a bearing cause this?

i'm thinking whatever the 'crud' is possibly damaged the bearing...the rear sound is tough to call, but it's most likely your brakes.

the crud is probably grease from the cv joint, that could be causing alot of problems and may have caused the bearing to go bad. i also heard cv joints that make a clicking noised when there realy bad. just jack up the car go under it and take a look at the cv it very obvious if its ripped or not.

I pushed down on the front, no noise, on the back squeaky squeaky... this was fixed by spraying Silcone Spray into the sway bar mounts, (source of the noice) also oiled up all the control bars and joints.

Seems the grinding/whining is actually coming from the BACK left..... hmmmm can really see anything wrong with the rotor.. but I need to jack it up.. can I jack up just one side????

Thanks

Kinda sounds like something I just dealt with...a high-pitched rotational noise that varies when you move the wheel around. What had me stumped was the noise wasn't present when I would drive the car around cold (ie: when I left for work every morning) but after 10 minutes of getting warm on the highway, it would start up.

For me, my brake pad had rusted to hell and become detatched...it was just kinda "floating" there lol. Fortunately, I'm still under the original warrenty for a few months, so I got a new set of pads AND rotors from my stealership.

Granted, you probably thought to check the brake pads already...just thought I'd throw that out there.
