Another check engine light, HELP!
OK, so today I got a new O2 sensor (one that is before cat, which is supposedly the one that goes out first). And on totally unrealated news, I got the Silverstar H7s all around in headlights and fogs (and they look sick, close to xenon almost). Problem is, not more than 12 hrs after this, the check engine light comes back on. Right now I am freaking out, because I am slightly drunk and annoyed that I payed like $200 for nothing (plus labor). Do you guys think I should change the other O2 sensor or what. My shop opens on Monday, which is when I will give them hell for this crap. Opinions really appreciated before then... THANKS
I was driving my car to the dealer/mechanic for some free work...on the way Mr. Check the damn engine light goes on. I've already invested close to $700 on tuning/a major service. Hopefully the check engine light refers to my cold valve that is being worked on since the temperature of my car was really low.
Dude, there is no way to tell what the CEL is for with out getting the car vag-com'd. You should have installed the O2 sensor yourself, and spent the money on a Vag-Com. The install is easy.
Bad news. Took it to get checked. WOW- something is really f*cked up. I forgot the error code, but my shop didn't wanna even figure out what was wrong. The code reffered to about like 6 different areas. Essentially it is something that is making the O2 sensors go bad. So now I've been recommended to a different shop. I'm definately gonna get raped when it comes to paying for it. Will try to call to get the exact code tomorrow so I can post it up for you guys.
