Are you trying to compare coolent temp to intake temp? Plus this is a crappy log. You really got to make one good run from 2k-7k for a decent graph.

Yeah I am little confused as to how well it works. It seems that it is the same temps for the most part once you start to drive. The only real difference is when you are not moving... Or am I reading this thing wrong?

JOsh
Your reading it correctly. Its not gonna do alot under load.. especially WOT.. but. I did notice it cools the air faster when cruising after a hard run.

The basic (stock) intercooler setup has a air duct to the front bumper, so its effecient if your driving with enuf air to move thru it. What i basically did was eliminate that and make it so it moves air when the car is stop, or at low air speeds. This way it can move cooler air thru the SMIC

Oh, ok... so would you recommend this over a FMIC?

Josh

EDIT: Never mind, dumb question.

I agree! My laptop died in the middle of logging I ended up forgetting about it till i saw the post. Its almost charged fully so i might step out for a late night pull

my car is a auto so its hard to hit the redline. it likes to shift byitself

Nope, its a cheap way to maximize the smic (for those of us who choose not to FMIC) altho. I do have a FMIC and im just waiting to choose my front bumper, either s4 or rs4, not sure yet. I just did this cuz its 99+ degrees here during the day. plus i was bored

When you are crusing or parked, the turbo isnot making any extra heat, also at wot, the airflow with the scoop gets more than enough flow to cool the charge to the best of the ic abilities. A better smic would have far greater success since you cant really improve a crappy smic. All your really doing is cooling the ic down a little faster at idle before it gets heatsoaked again.

Since you are auto, this really wont show the numbers as accuratly since at 6k the iat's really skyrocket

OK, I know this is sort of off topic but not really, but what happens if the IAT gets to hot? Like running a PC-16 file with the stock SMIC?

Josh

If no one wants to answer thats cool. I don't want to thread jack.
