Default Another plug with no home, help?

Right, so I've uncovered yet another random plaug just lazying around my engine compartment this morning and can't figure out what the hell is for or where I should plug it into...

It has the code "8D1 971 725 C" on it and is on the passenger side behind the little mini air vent in the front bumper, although I have a feeling it found its way there on its own.

All I've been able to find on the part refers to it as eiher a "conversion harnes" or "line to high-voltage switch", neither of which make any sense unless it's for something not very critical or I'm just an idiot and didn't notice something not working...

Anyways, it's a square plug with four wires going into it and it's run from across the compartment, although I don't know exactly where it leads to.

As always any help is greatly appreciated!

Right, well I put the wire back to where I think it originally was (now it's not mixed in with all the air conditioning stuff) and it's next to the tow eye in front, sooooo I think it may be something like a brake light hookup for use when the car is in tow?

That's my best guess at least...
