Default another snub q?

so i just installed a greed speed snub mount, i do notice a difference but i noticed that the new mount was quite a bit smaller than the stock one. u used the apr write up to do the install and they said the mount may be too big and that there may need to be some grinding involved. so would i notice a diff with a larger mount? i have around a half a cm clearance on top and bottom of the mount. i know i just spent money on this but would i have been better off spending the $50 on the apr product that would be a tighter fit?

This may not help but my APR mount was by no means smaller than stock. It seems like a smaller mount would cause more movment becuase of the loose fit, regardless if the material is harder. I'm not sure what he means by moving the mount up or down I replaced mine last weekend and it looked to me like it'd only go one way?
