the first start after fueling , it takes 5 sec to turn over and then i must keep the rpms above 500 for 20 sec or it will drop and kill? seems like i'm having to build up pressure. other then after fueling it starts up like normal and everythings good. any ideas ? its a 98.5 2.8Q manual

 

do you smell gas?

Could be a # of things... fuel pump, fuel line... possibly a fuel filter, but I don't know.

 

Do our cars have vaper cans. that might have something to do with it

 

no i dont smell gas ... then again i'm in the car but i've had the windows down many times and have never smelled gas ... if it was the fuel filter wouldnt that make the hard start happen every time ?
