I was looking at getting this boost gauge done (http://www.impconcepts.com/audis4boostgauge.htm), but the guy needs some details to make sure it will workon a 99.5 A4. Pics with the dial faceplates removed would be uber helpful.
Here is a pic of the version of cluster in my car....

I was also wondering about the possibilities of sacrificing the lame clock and installing a mechanical boost gauge in the same position, but i don't know what the circuit board looks like underneath (or if it would be feasible to cut the board anyway and solder in "patch" wires to reconnect the board).
Thoughts -- opinions -- been done before?!?

I don't think I would be willing to give up my tach for a big *** boost gauge. IMHO
What you talkin' 'bout Willis?!?! Nobody said anything about eliminating the tach -- hell no! The two options I'm looking at are basically integrated into the tach dial. One by installing an LED meter into the dial -- the other by eliminating the mechanical clock at the 6 o'clock position on the tach.ORIGINAL: akielb

i think eliminating the clock and going mechanical boost guage would be awesome! gl with that and let us know how it goes.
Ok, got the cluster for $50 shipped off ebay. We'll see if I can make either idea happen.
I'm still very much open to outside suggestions, etc.
