I've been thinking about doing this to. Mine's not as scratches up as yours but still could use a recoat. Are you going to try to match the cream color or go with a contrast?

What kind of clear coat would give an extremely hard finish?

i was gonna try to match but might be kind of hard. i wasnt think about a clear coat but now that you mention it a nice thin layer would be nice.

yo i have heard of people trying to paint these with little success... idk why but i guess its not as easy as it looks, everyone said theres turned out looking like garbaggggge. its only like 30 bucks from the dealer for new ones. I would suggest to take that route, but if you do paint them and it turns out looking okay, than put a DIY cuz these dam things are peeling on everyones car (hahaha EXCEPT MINE ) knock on wood...

but mine is a 2001 so its the newest b5 available so im sure the days coming. I just had experience from my 1996 12v, so i have tried to keep these things looking as good as possible.

I looked into getting new ones from the dealer and they quoted me over 200 dollars for all four. That is why I just bought a whole new black leather interior for 175......gotta love eBay!

kinda like this

my only worry is that this is a "high friction" area of the interior. are we going to end up redoing this again and again over time.
