anyway to avoid using crankshaft lack pin? or use something else?
I have a 96 a4 2.8l quattro. I'm about to do a water pump tomorow when i realized i ordered the 3243 camshaft bar and not the 3242 crankshaft locking pin with it. Anyways i only have tomorow to do it because ill be busy with school and drill weekend. Is there any thing i could thread into the ckp sensor where the pin would go? I tried a few local parts stores and they dont carry tdc locks. has anyone heard of a universal kit i could pick up? or suggest any places in the maryland area that would possibly have this tool. Or is it possible a dealer would have this in stock? any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks.
