when answering someone who doesnt even know whats it called, let alone what it does, i would say thatthe statement "BOVs do not work" is correct. If someone isnt going to take the time tolearn what its even called, let alone how it works,you really think they are going to properly install it so the purged air gets recirculated? or do you think this person just wants their audi to make the same sound as someone's neon? if i were answering the original question, i would assume the second and make the same statement to them: BOVs, in the hands of someone who cant figure out even what to call it, do not work.
I totally agree with that. And since 100% recirculation is necessary, there is no point in getting an adjustable BOV, or a BOV with recirculation kit. A DV normally costs less than both.

I know what the purpose of a BOV is, I was simply unaware of what term applies in the case of Audi in that everyone on this thread seems to be referring to it as something different. Thus far I've heard blow off valve, bypass valve (what I formerly used in my vehicles) and recirculation valve, which is a new concept to me as I am unfamiliar with the operation of a closed circuit turbo system. So why don't you all just back the hell off.
