Default APR Exhaust Tips SUCK

Please take a look at this. I'm quite disappointed in this APR exhaust tip. My wife bought these at about the same time I bought my Stromung for my M3. Mine actually has more years on it than hers and mine looks a zillion times better! I tried using Brillo to clean it, but it did not help. It worked for mine, however. I thought this exhaust is supposed to be stainless steel??? Mine cleansed veryeasily as expected. I love APR's chips and the fact that you can "switch" profiles on the fly using the cruise control stalk. But I must say that I am super disappointed in the exhaust. Also, we just had the car inspected. They stated that the exhaust had a leak! Shown in the pic below is where I had to pay someone to REWELD the connection in order to pass the state inspection!!! Unlike Borla or other exhausts, APR's are not "warrantied for life". My wife states that she called them on this condition before and was given the "Heismann" - being a woman and all.

My suggestions is to STAY AWAY FROM APR EXHAUSTS! I can vouch for their chips, however - to which I am super impressed by the before/after difference in performance as recorded in a dyno and my Gtech pro.

Finally, does anyone out there know how I can get this exhaust tipto "shine" like my Stromung exhaust tips?

Thanks in advance for your help.

not all stainless is the same grade, i've actually found that the stainless from like japan, is of higher quality atleast looks wise because it has less steel in it, and weathers better

Hey, just reading thru here, i have the APR exhaust on my B5 frontrack. When i got it, it looked amazing, no problems. ALthough i do think the tips come out low. Im sorry for the problems, i was very dissapointed with the fit and how low they come out the back. I guess when you pay 1000 dollars for some tubes, you expect them to be some nice Fing tubes.

i've never seen good looking APR tips that are used. one pipe is usually discolored.. and i don't like how they are skinny and even with each other.. i really don't like APR in general as far as A4 products

I think that the fact that they don't stand behind thier product sucks. I paid LESS for my Stromung and also paid less for a Borla and these two companies back their products 100%. So I guess the moral of the story is: AVOID APR EXHAUSTS.
