I talked to an apr rep on the phone and he said their injectors are discontinued because of poor product reliability.. and that they recommend the tt ones now.

If the tune is based on a certain air flow that recomends an exhaust by running stock exhaust you could be running rich and burn up the cat and you exhaust valves (depending on how rich it was). If it's tuned for the exhaust and then flashed in to the ecu or chipped with the exhaust part of the tune it could be needed. I don't know if it would hurt it but it wouldn't be tune for it.

You dont need to replace your coil packs when you get chipped.. My coil packs are original and have put10k chipped miles on them. That would be sort of premature and unnecessary. Its good to have one or two extrason hand in the trunk though cuz you never know.

i agree that the coil pack has nothing to do with the chip...but i still havent found out how necessary the exhaust is with the apr stage 1+. APR was promoting their own injectors that they designed for a while... as you can see below on their site. When I got stage 1 I asked about the 1+ and they were pushing thier own injectors over the TT ones at that time. But due to the fact that theirs sucked they are back to pushing the TT ones.

It's simply a matter of the chip being more agressive and the old coils can't take it. lots of people blow coils after getting chipped. for the price to replace all 4 ($120) it just makes sence to do it.

Panda,
I thought the 440s where just what they used with the stage 1+ i don't know them to be that for a fact at all. blue topped is the only thing i can tell you for sure on the EFIs, i have the boxes out side gonna check shortly and i'll let you know.

Ok just got the boxes, i was totaly off, they are Bosch "1ST/PC" "0 280 155 892" 358cc IEFs. I think these are the tt225 EFIs. Thanks panda, now i know
