Uhmm....I don't think that nifty valve will pass any CARB inspections. Even if you can control the way it opens up. A visual test like they have in my state would automatically fail me if they saw that. ESPECIALLY next to the CAT. It would be very hard to approve that from the DOT. Good idea though. Would love to hear unadulterated noise coming from under my feet louder than hell itself. [sm=devilangel.gif][sm=smiley20.gif]

So how many people here have dump valves? Are they that sweet?

The ves is competly different from a normal dump valve. The normal valve when opened will rob you of low end. (I always get into argument with ppl here about how 3" exhaust will not lose low end, but I have run a 3" set-up and I know from experience that it does loose low end).

The ves, opens under boost when a free-er flowing exhausts gains will be noticed. I will be running the ves in a few week...home brewed though. You can also set the point at which it opens with a manual boost controller

1.8Ts uncorked arnt really that loud the turbo breaks up most exhaust noise... I only run a resonator and no muffler and its still pretty quiet

On N/A cars larger exhaust will rob low end but on turbo cars it helps the low end because the reduction in backpressure allows the turbo to spool earlier also reduces lag.

It does decrease lag but you DO lose low end. I have tried, i ran a 3" downpipe for while and the torque spike got plain annoying. There is absolutly no low end until boost. Go get a 3" downpipe test pipe and run only that and you will see what i mean
