Audi A4 change of motor

RE: Audi A4 change of motor
Hello there can anyone recommend me which larger filter to use??
I am going to try seafoam before replacing the engine. The total repair cost for swapping engines is 500 dlls. The only problem is that is from 01 A4 turbo.I really dont wish to exchange my cars engine since it still has lots of hp, well i can feel that. My mechanic does not want to change the oil pump because he says he needs to change the main bearings as well as tune up the crankshaft. In all the posts i have seen nobody mentions that they have to replace the bearings or crankshaft in order to exhange the oil pump. What do you reallyu recommend me to do, i am very unsure myself on the pros and cons of replacing my engine now.

Cincy and Ialready told you. An 01 engineaint gunna fly with your 99 ECU among other things. 01 is drive by wire, you have cable throtle for example. Find a new mechanic, he sounds like an idiot or you are misunderstanding him. All you need to do is drop the oil pan to replace the oil pump/pickup screen and tube.If you have any intentions on salvaging the engine, I would NOT drive it at all, even with seafom (as I already told you with good reason). Either replace the pump/pickup screen and hope for the bestor find aused/rebuilt97-99 engine.
