Default Audi A4 Confusion

Hi everyone, brand new here in the forum. I'm just getting ready to graduate from college and as a gift to myself, I am looking into buying a car. I came across the A4s in my research and was blown away at not only the car itself, but also how much you can pick one up for (since I dont want to spend a whole lot right out of college).

I was originally looking at the 2003 to 2005 (sorry if the years are off) A4 since you can get one with descent mileage for around 10K. Then I looked into the 2000 to 2002 S4s since they are around the same price range and offer more performance. Of course, from there I started looking into the A4 from 2000 to 2002 also since they seem to be even cheaper than the other two...obviously.

I guess what I am getting at is......I'm lost

What do you guys suggest and why? Taking into consideration cost, reliability and repair costs, and performance.

Thanks in advance!!!

So a 2000 to 2002 A4 and do light mods? Whats the best way to find one? I have noticed that it's a little difficult using autotrader and cars.com

depending on the $'s you want to spend upfront..... v the upgrade $'s you want to spend

i would say you can get a car for about 5 g's or less then do anywhere from 5-10k upgrades and you will have a very fun ride, but if you want a good dd.... go with a 01-04 1.8t and do an elim upgrade... will net you roughly 275awhp..... car price plus roughly 5k for kit.....

autotrader or craigslist, look on here in the classifieds vortex or audizine, might even try ebay
