I have an Audi A4, 2002 1.8T. After some recent oil starvation problems, the engine blew (bent valves/broken bearings). I am currently having the engine replaced with a refurbished used engine. I was quoted 2 weeks for the repair.

It has been 2 months, and it's now becoming a farce...

1. It took 5 weeks to replace the engine 'the first time'. They said the engine they had purchased was bad, and they needed to remove it and order another one.

2. They replaced it a second time.

3. Now we are at 8 weeks, and they are telling me they have just discovered the turbo was also damaged because of the oil starvation issue. That will take another week.

The fact that it took 5 weeks to replace the engine really bothers me. I do trust them, but how do I know they aren't feeding me a story? Should they have inspected the turbo originally?

I am losing my patience! I don't know much, so I thought I would ask the experts here!

(PS: I understand it's not an easy task to replace an engine... but if it's going to take 5 weeks just tell me!)
