Default B6 engine replacement

ok, so i just blew my 1.8T motor for the second time in 6 months. [:@]

i will be replacing the AMB 1.8T in my '02 A4 shortly. my question is:

what are the differences between a engine on a manual transmission and an automatic transmission?

i've heard just the crankshaft and flywheel.

can anyone tell me for sure what needs to be changed.

THANKS

TWICE in 6 months??? Thats GOT to be getting expensive! What are you doing to cause that?

As for the difference I believe that it is just the crank and flywheel.

Actually, since you mention that. I wasn't even driving either time the motor blew.
1st time was a bottom-end bearing that went.(along with that oil sludge problem). blew it all to hell. including turbo.
luckily that time it was mostly covered under warranty.

this time i think timing slipped and 2 pistons hit the head causing massive damage.
I gotta pay for it now. [:@]

Thanks for the advice on the auto-manual swap.

That picture makes me sad enough to cry. I'd much rather see a puppy dog get hit by a semi truck then look at that again.[sm=smiley19.gif]
