In regards to rims I found 4 17 inch with excellent tires
on Craig's list for $900.00 and these were the real stuff
not after market.

Where at dude? Link me. I was just looking on there and couldn't find any. Are they RS4 rims or what? And whatkind of tires do they have?
The rims are 17" five spoke from an Audi and the tires are Michelin 235 R17.
All four sold from a private dealer who got 18" for his car, I was just fortunate.
I still have my old 16" rims with fair tires.
You have Craig's list in every state.

I have enough to eat. Funny I don't remember saying anything about starving. I just don't have enough money for the 034 plug and play standalone, motor build, big *** turbo, and the 250 shot I would like to have by spring. You wouldn't understand with your weak *** mod list. The people I hang out with have some of the fastest cars on the street, one of my friends has the fastest street evo ever built (check out performanceautowerks.com that right AMS isn't the ones to have built the best), most of the people I hang out with have 700+ hp cars and I feel a little left out. From your mod list it looks like I spent more on my car in the lat 2 months than you have since you bought it, it just gets tough revamping a house and spending money on a car at the same time. Maybe you should try some motivational classes to find the energy to work a couple of jobs and be a father save for the futhure, build your dream house and dream car all at the same time. I would bet I put more money into my housethis lastyear than you made last year BOY.

Dude on a track 700hp is nothing and you don't buy an Audi just to get a drag queen. Also this person wasn't asking for a 700+ hp car he was asking how good it is overall. My Audi B6 A4 is all stock except for wheels and it handles better than most cars I've driven and it's reliable if you treat it right. BTW if you don't like the car just buy another one and quit talking crap about our cars because some of us actually like them

Audis can be expensive to repair, mostly because of labor costs. If you have basic mechanical skills, you can save lots of $$$ by DIY. Also, if you take care of the car, it will be less likely to give you problems. My first car was an audi, and I liked it so much that I bought another.

Back on topic:
mgoblue24, even though it sounds like youre a michigan fan I dug up a pretty good thread for you: https://www.audiforums.com/m_115125/tm.htm
Haha yeah, off topic for a sec, but I am a Michigan fan (GO BLUE! ), why? Are you an OSU or MSU fan?

Anyways, back to the topic...thanks for the link, it provided some good info. I would be kind of interested in getting a warranty for my A4, but unfortunately, I am getting it from a private seller, not a dealer. However, isn't there still a possiblity that I could go to like say...my local Audi Dealership, and they could give me more details? Also, on a side note...I have heard about the issues with the timing belt. My friend is an amazing mechanic and works on imports all the time, so he could probably fix it for me, but, how much is a new timing belt? I thought I heard maybe $500-$750?

Also, I have noticed that most of you have said just take care of it and it will be fine..well, luckily for me, my dad is a big believer in taking care of things, so he is going to make me take care of it whether I like it or not (haha), but kind of a random question...some people say that their turbo is totally gone or w/e, and they had to get a new turbo kit. The Audi I am looking at (idk if I have said this yet....), is a 1998 A4 1.8 T (Quattro) with 124k miles or so. Now obviously since I am still in HS, I won't be doing a lot of driving. My work is like 1-2 miles away, my school is .5 miles away or so, and I have a gas station (random, I know) like 2 blocks from me. But how long will my turbo last until I need to get a new one? Don't they cost like $2000 for a new kit?

FINALLY....My brother puts I think Premium in his 2002 A4 1.8TQ, but he said you could put the normal stuff in there (or the cheap stuff, aka. unleaded). I didn't think you could, but could you? And if you did, wouldn't you get less MPG?

Sorry if I am bugging everyone with all my questions, its going to be (hopefully) my first car, and I want to make sure its going to be worth it.

on a scale of 1 to 10

cost of parts - 5
reliability (if well cared for) - 9
reliability (if not cared for) - 4
able to DIY -10
Fun factor - 10
drivability - 10
handling/braking - 9
power - 7.5

overall, an incredible, fun car. If you keep up on maintenance, and DIY most of it, its not expensive to repair, and is very reliable. I would highly reccomend it if you have the DIY ability. Turbo will last normally well into the mid-late 100's, if not longer. That is, if you can resist the urge to put in a bigger one!

And by the way, sorry to see Michigan choke again in another bowl game. I guess its to be expected. Thank God I am a Buckeye fan, since we're about to win another national championship and we beat MI again this year. 5 out of 6 is it I think?
Good luck to you!

Oh, the last part of your last question:

This will start some more posting, but really, always use 91 octane (audi reccomended) or always 93 if you are chipped.I have never put anything but 93 in mine (chipped).
Otherwise, you risk detonation and reduced performance, engine life.

Good info!

And good luck to OSU (not that often you will hear me say that, lol). They willblow U-F out of the water and prove the BCS is bs. U-M played like they did in the OSU game (which honestly...wasn't that good), but nevertheless, good luck OSU, and thanks for the info!

-BTW, sorry to see Smith go to the draft, he's an amazing quarterback. IMO, he is similar to Vince Young...
