audi AWD and Volvo AWD
Are both mechanical? I know i am posting in an audi forum but does anybody know if they are about equal or not? I fell as though they have both been around a really really long time.

me too 1niceA4 , ive never driven a car with more grip and control as an A4, you can throw it fastinto sharp corners whcih are soaking wet and it just rewards you for it, pulls you round no problems with no effort. One could argue that it takes some of the funawayfrom teh driver, but I personaly love it, i drove an oldgolf VR6 FWD superchipped and tuned to about 250+ bhp, it was a fun car but every corner was slidey uncontrolleda battle compared to my A4.

I agree with turbo kraut.
For everyday use Audi, then Subaru, then Mitsu. but the WRX and Pre-EVO (GSX) transmissions have some reliability issues they need to deal with, the Audi ones are really reliable.
+AWD Or not, Volvos are a crap shoot, one will last you 300K miles and the other will break every 5K. Then to top it off no one wants to service em.

I've found AWD is great IF you have good tires... my all season continentals are ok in snow, but man, it's not that good, and with my summers on it's worthless. The rear gets really squirrely....
