audi help on Car decision!
with about 500 the 1.8 will blow the doors off the 2.8
every 2.8 owner that told you to get a 1.8 cuz they know they ****ed up
The "electrical issues" most ppl talk about are usually related to faulty sensors. I'ts really not that big of a deal. Show me which car from any maker that doesn't have some sort "electrical issue".

yeah, well THEY don't know what the **** there talking about. the cruise controle issue is probably just the switch is dirty, I've had the same crap and alittle cleaner fixed it up fine. 98 is a great year. newer motor. better styling, can't realy go wrong.
I really can't give you a price off the top of my head, but they all aren't that expensive. I got a 98.5 and no problems with it. As for as technology there wasn't anything drastically new over the b5 model years. However, if I remember correctly 99.5+ was when they started using the nonmechanical throttle (drive-by-wire), I'm probably totally wrong about that though. And the 1.8Thp was bumped up to 170hp, or was it 00+. Now I'm confusing myself. Bottom line is all b5s are basically the same except for cosmetics.
Mine has 115K and still going strong. If I take care of it like the previous owner did I'll be able to put another 75k on without any major fvckups, but I'll be getting a b6 in a year or two.
