Default Audi Mechanics in DC/MD/VA?

Hi guys, I am new to this forum, but am glad to have found this.

I have a 2000 A4, 1.8 T . Time to shell out some dough - check engine light is on for weeks now, front break pad lighs on, may be timing belt at 60K now.
Does anyone know of any reliable, reasonable Audi mechanics in this area?

Also, I have realized that my transmissions - from 2nd to 3rd gear at low speed, it tends to drag until it hits 3k RPM before it will upshift. This seems very gas consuming and strain on the transmission. Or is my transmission shot ?

Any advice for me?
Thanks

If you hear of any, let me know, too.

Front brakes are a 1 hour DIY job. An Audi mechanics gonna hit you for a C-note, at least...
