I folks new to the forum. I bought this 98 Audi A4 last week. There is one problem in this car. The volume *** doesn't work, that means i can't set the volume, neither i can change the settings. Is there any way to fix this or should I just buy a new one. If new what do you guys recommend (I want cd/mp3). Also, there is service engine light, according to the mechanic, the car is so sensitive that the light pop up for just anything is this right?

 

Try RadioShack contact cleaner spray on the volume control.

 

well yeah our cars are kinda cranky. They have sensors for everything.
What you need to do is find someone with a VAGcom and ask them to retrieve your codes. One common cause of the check engine light is a fuel system pressure leak (ie. gas cap is not tightened enough).
