Auto Trans Service: Dealer Advice vs My gut
Hey all-
I've got a 2000 A4 wagon with an automatic. 100k miles. I'm looking for a solid opinion here. Reading other posts, the jury is still out.
Audi says the tranny's are lifetime, requiring no service. This completely goes against everything I know about properly caring for my vehicles. The fluid has never been changed. What do I do??
Thanks.

its supposedly life time fluid. but i interpret that as "it'll last the life of your transmission, which will die most likely due to never changing fluid" i say change it every 100k

I was talking to the service guy at the dealership the other day and he said the trans is sealed and there is no place to change fluid without ripping the trans apart. He could have been full of s*** though.

Hmmm... Sounds like the jury is still out. I'm leaning twds changing it as long as it won't cause any HARM. All my prior logic says that I should.
What can I excpect to pay to have a pro do it?
Cheers.

if its life time why incorporate a filter?? and what happen when you get a leak?? truth is its not a life time thing and 100k is a good guide ( a life time to Audi is 3 years and buy a new one )
