5th Gear
u can choose your shift point (stock isn't set to optimum shift point i think) and u can shift faster

Only in the shifts... The cool thing about auto is there is no error in shifting. the lag between shifts with tip can affect acceleration cuz its a 1 sec. delay. A tip chip can solve that easily with a .2 sec. delay and then the only disadvatage of auto/tip is launches and its not as much fun as shifting... Plus you can only upshift/downshift one gear at a time with auto/tip. But after you get up and going like 30mph-?mph tip (with tip chip) would have the advantage because its pretty impossible to let off the gas, press the clutch in, shift gear, back on gas and engage the clutch again within .2 seconds in a manual.
no what i mean stock stick is faster then stock tiptronic car right because you get a better start with the stick because the rpm will be higher. but is there any diffrence in speed after 30 mph

yes because the tip tranny lags between shifts if you dont have a tip chip. Although my 4th-5th gear shifts with tip are quicker than 1st-4th. and are almost almost instantaneous.ORIGINAL: Sp33d07

RE: Auto VS. Manual after 30-40mph
the stick shift will always be faster because you have a choice when to change so you can take it to the limit between changes regardless of what speed your doing ( I can be doing 70mph and drop to 3rd ) the automatic is sort of programmed to prevent damage, top end should be the same ish
