well you guys are probly sick of hearing about my latest obsession autoX but I just wanted to update you guys on the event

Sunday I drove down to Cordova Dragway where they were hosting the solo event with a buddy of mine the event was great the drivers and staff were all very nice like one big family but most of the spectators were really indifferent (we kept them behind a fence)

on my first run I was basically learning the course at speed which earned me a DNF when I decided to make my own course[sm=itsok.gif] ,but my second run was much better and felt much smoother and I only killed one cone. Now on my third run the heat was deffinatly getting the better of me and my car though it was my fastest I couldnt seem to focus and I had the beginings of a migrane setting in after the first cone I said **** it and just turned the rest of the run into one long burn out and nabbed two more cones...but if was a hell of alot more fun

A few problems I had with the event were the size of the parking lot it took place in and obviously the size of the course. And the fact that it was just nonstop turns giving the avantage to those who have awd of which there was alot in my class I would have really sucked if I didnt have a faster car than most
I really wish there was at least one strait

my biggest gripes had nothing to do with the event though like my cars inabilty to stay in first gear and the massive amounts of understeer at low speeds...

my buddy mike with his no chip fendershredding coiloverdropped 99Qa4 beat my best by a second er two
there was also an EVO there running like 20psi who beat me by 3 seconds

what did I get out of this weekend besides sun poisioning?
well the knowledge that I need coil overs a rear antiroll bar and a tiptronic conversion...ooooh and some R compound tires, I think I took about 10,000 miles of my RSAs [sm=guilty.gif]

BTW just wanted to let everyone know that when I had the radio off during the auto X everytime I let off the throttle I got that wooosh sound. I didnt even notice till people started coming up to me and saying what kind of turbo you got in there I could hear it!

...is that the DV that was giving you your wooosh sounds? Must a been pushin hard!

 

Yeah i switch out mine yesterday and mine was louder too, not that i mind or anything.

Nah I dont have a BOV I have the 225hp TT DV its loud because I have an HKS intake kit
The reason I never heard it before is because Im 80% deaf in my right ear.... what? but I notice it now that it was pointed out to me

 

My car always has some little problem. Right now fuel trim in bank 1 and 2 are lean, timing belt is going on next week, and the suspension is squeaking. [:'(]
