Default B5 flashing SERVICE INSP

My ABS Module is shot and waiting to be sent for rebuilding but the last couple days my dash has been flashing; SERVICE INSP at startup. Everything is running fine, is this just because I did not reset the oil service reminder? Which brings me to my next question, how can I reset the Oil service reminder?

Default RE: B5 flashing SERVICE INSP

service indicator for B5 ('97~'99.5) is as follow
OEL - oil change
ln 1 - inspection service
ln 2 - additional servicing work

SERVICE INSP might be something different and I havn't seen before.

These indicators can be reset via VAG-COM.
there is way to reset for 99+ cars using the trip meter control and clock adjustment but I tried and didn't work for mine.
try searching the forum for that if you want to know... there are alot of those.

For ABS... when I take out the fuse for ABS to disable it... I will have the ABS and Brake (parking brake) lights on at all time with the engine running. The lights will go away when you put the fuse back in or if they don't they will go away at engine restart.

*** For disabling ABS, #7 is recommended (10A small fuse) because the ABS will work as soon as the fuse is back in without engine restart.
