Been thinking of selling my B6 3.0 and getting a 1.8T equipped car. I figure if I go with an APR chip I'll have almost the same power I have now and a more efficient engine.

I wanted to get an idea of what you guys are getting gas mileage-wise. I haven't decided if I am going to go for a Tip or a 6-MT again. I've read some scary stuff about the Tips on the A4s and the last thing I want is an expensive transmission repair on a commuter car that has to be available to drive every day.

 

I get 25 miles per gallon (on an average tank of driving - 50% highway, 50% city) for premium gas. A4 2003 1.8T Quattro Tiptronic.

What do you get with the 3.0 ?

 

I have a 2003 B6 1.8T and I get 26 MPG. Trust me go with manual transmission.

If I drive half and half I get 25-26 also. Straight city I get about 21. Straight highway as high as 30-32 (though you can only believe the computer so much)

 

B6 1.8t Quatro and i get about 410-450 kms to a tank or about 300 miles I guess. Not that good bro sorry. That is mostly city driving.

 

i get 23-25mpg city and hwy but 95% hwy. i have an APR +1 program. on my manual transmission B6 1.8t quattro. i drive 80mph on the freeway going up and down hill to work everyday.

 

I get 18 mpg EVERY SINGLE TIME I CALCULATE AT THE TIME OF FUELING!!! Frustrating as hell, but it's ALL city driving in L.A. 18, 18, 18..... and that is with 91 octane from Chevron.

Anyone know if you can get > 91 octane in L.A.?

 

Wow.. I was expecting much higher numbers for the 1.8T engine overall. My 3.0 averages 16-17 around town and about 27 highway.
